Braindex is a start-up born in 2016 from the desire to improve the care of patients considered vulnerable because of their preoperative state of fragility.

With the goal of reducing the rate of neurological complications after surgery in patients over 60 years of age, Braindex is developing a brain functions monitoring device for clinicians during surgery.

Developed in partnership with the INSERM 1403 CIC IT unit of Lille academic hospital, and UMR 7039 CRAN of the CNRS and Lorraine University, Braindex’s research work focuses on a 3D cerebral NIRS modality, a processed EEG, and their combination on a single sensor into a multivariate cerebral monitoring index [i].
